The Marathon that is 20BooksVegas

With the registration of 20BooksVegas just days away, I wanted to share my thoughts and plans for the event.

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, so we’ll start with that theory.

Right now the picture below perfectly sums up how I feel about the event:

Last year was my first time attending, and overall it went well.

Though right now, the idea of getting on another plane that is not taking me aboard is just wrong and I don’t want to do it. Also, these airlines don’t care about anyone – their employees or their customers. I say that because in the midst of the pandemic, every flight I had to and from Vegas last year was at 80 percent (or more) capacity.

And now that I’ve ‘done’ Vegas, I honestly don’t ever want to go back. With the exception of 20BooksVegas, I never wanted to visit the place. There lies my problem – I really want to attend 20BooksVegas!

The event will be available online, and I’m thinking of just attending virtually and getting together a group of other authors to chat with during the week about the classes that we want/will watch from home. I also remember talking about helping someone else attend the event, since I was a previous scholarship recipient.

I’m still a plankton, and honestly the latter is the more logic choice for me right now.

But I know what a difference a year can make and believe in being as prepared as possible, so I’m still going to prep for the off chance that I do attend 20BooksVegas in person.

One thing that I learned about this event last year (besides what I don’t want to do again, lol) is that 20BooksVegas is a marathon, and in order to participate and succeed in any marathon, one has to first set some goals and make sure that they are in peak condition.

So, that is what I plan to do.

My next post for the marathon that is 20BooksVegas will be all about how I plan to save and budget for the in person event. I hope sharing my plans with you all will help you do the same, and if you also have any tips/advice, please feel free to share them in the comments!
