But, I’m a Part-Timer!

If you know which movie inspired this blog title:

In preparation for 20BookVegas (more about that in the next post), I’ve been listening to Craig Martell’s Five Minute Focus videos on YouTube. They’ve been extremely helpful as far as me planning my 2023 as an author.

While doing that, I’ve decided to announce that I am a part time author.

There is no shame in that, it’s just where I am with the journey.

To be honest, I will more than likely always be a part time author. The amount of write flow I put in doesn’t match the cash flow that I can put into releasing my work. So, at the very least, I may be able to release one novel a year. And I’m okay with that because being a part time author is better than not being an author at all.

Also, I am really enjoying working behind the scenes these days when it comes to authoring. Having folks to chat with on The Stories Station Podcast, brainstorming with my author friends for their works, sprinting with other authors (when the internet allows), and working on short stories for anthologies (more about that in October, lol).

My goals for K. McCoy the indie author haven’t changed.

I still want to travel the world and pen stories that people will enjoy. And I will – just not as quickly as I had hoped, since I’m a part time author.

So, where are my other part time authors at?

Which other authors do you readers know that give you all one novel a year?

I’d love to connect with them – maybe start a support group or something, lol

Until next time.

“Continue reading, continue writing, and continue loving the process!”
