An independent author, helping other independent authors tell their stories well.

Are you an author building your self-publishing team?
I’d love to help!
Listed below are a few services I offer for fellow authors.
All editing projects are quoted on a book by book basis and include a project fee (a flat rate for services).
I include an honest review of your fictional story as well, at no additional charge.
Beta Reader
Allow me to read and provide a constructive review for your story before you release it to the public!
I will read your manuscript and share my thoughts on the overall book (including but not limited) setting, readability, and characters.
This is NOT an editing service.
At least two (2) rounds of self-editing must be completed before K. McCoy will begin beta reads.
Coaching Services
Are you a new author looking for someone that will motivate and help guide you through the hurdles of becoming an indie author?
Then I would love to work with you!
Uplifting authors is one of my greatest joys. I help aspiring and emerging indie authors, ranging from how to improve in project managing and creating media kit(s) to how to build their ‘Authorship Dream Team’.
Schedule an introductory Zoom call with me today to see if we’d be a great fit!
Copy Editor
Allow me to provide you with an in-depth surveying of your work, from inconsistencies to legal liabilities in your storytelling.
As a partner in your self-publishing process, I will work with you in correcting errors among the grammar, spelling, syntax, and punctuation used in your story.
Line Editor
Once the readability of the manuscript has been established, I focus on listening to your voice as an author.
To find an author’s ‘voice’ within their brand of storytelling is my key goal during the line editing process, as it aids in deciding what type of editing to proceed with going forward for your story.
After doing this, I will prepare suggestions from the manuscript for the author to review, including (but not limited to) pacing issues and inconsistencies with the overall style of the author’s storytelling.
Narrator
Bringing to life your story via audio is no small task, but it is one that I take seriously.
Please visit my Voice Actor/Narrator page to find out more!
Proofreader
As a proofreader, I would be happy to check the final draft of your work for consistency to ensure it is completely free of errors.
With a two-week turnaround as your proofreader, I will also review said work for spelling errors, punctuation errors, typos or incorrect use of regional English-based on characters, scenes, and so forth
Sensitivity Reader
As a sensitivity reader, I work with you to ensure that your story does not get lost in misunderstandings and misrepresentation.
My goal is to assist you in better story development and to offer inclusive tips where possible to help improve your fictional work.
Webinars
Are you hosting a virtual conference?
I would love to instruct a class (or two) for your event!
