As the first series that I have ever taken on, it’s only fitting that MAGIX would get it’s own page.
Here I will keep you in the know about this Hallyu and Soap Opera fused story.
There is a catch though – I’ll only share snippets and teasers.
Why?
Well, if you want more deets, as well as promos and polls on what you think should happen next in this series, you’ll need to join us over at The Stories Station!
Lucky for you, all you’ll need to do is click here to make that happen.

Being a broke indie author sucks.
Let’s start with the good news first – the second book in the MAGIX series is done!
My editor finished looking it over last week, the book cover was completed months ago, and I am working on the social media content for its release later this Spring. The question now is, “When will I release the book?”
Originally, the plan to release books 2 and 3 back to back starting in April. Though after paying for the editing of book 2, I do not have the funds to pay for the editing of book 3.
Part of me wants to go ahead and stick to my April release date and let the chips fall where they may. Realistically, book 3 won’t be ready for release until June (which is when I had planned on release another novelette, but that is a whole ‘nother story). I am sharing all of this to ask you, dear MAGIX Lovers, which do you prefer?
A delay in book 2 with a back to back release (ie., May release of book 2 and June release of book 3)?
OR…
The scheduled release of book 2 next month, with a promise of a book 3 release later this year (April release of book 2 and a TBA release of book 3)?
You decide!

MAGIX: Melodic Whirlwinds
As of Saturday, July 3rd, the second installment of the MAGIX series is now available via #ebook!
I’m still working out the kinks as far as getting my stories ready for print-on-demand.
Hopefully by the early Fall they all will be ready to go and into your anxious hands!
I just feel so elated to finally – finally – be back on track with this series. And in the midst of working on my other scheduled releases for the year too… Yeah, I have a lot going on at the moment, but I’m managing it well.
Expect a few snippets from MAGIX: Melodic Whirlwinds soon!
If the wait is too long for you, I am currently looking for more members to join the LIT Crew. That’s where readers of my work will get first access to any new stories that I’ll be releasing. Just go on over to Booksprout, sign up (it’s FREE), and follow me under ‘K.McCoy’.
That’s it!
Once I post the story there, you can decide to read it or not. If you do read it, then you’ll have some time afterwards you do to leave a review on the suggested websites.
Expect MANY MORE ARCs for the MAGIX series, MAGIXluvs!
Saturday, July 31st, 2021!
The reviews are coming in for MAGIX and I couldn’t be happier!

Though before I get more into that, I want to give you all a snippet from MAGIX: Melodic Whirlwinds first! Other than that, I have no new news, so enjoy this snippet and be sure to get your e-book copy today!

Today is a slow day in the office, so I’ve been trying to fill a major plothole for the rest of the MAGIX series. Thing of it is – I can’t seem to find the motivation to actually write for MAGIX today.
I’m not lacking in inspiration or motivation, just the physical will to write. My brain keeps telling me all the right things, like, “You have a new proofreader AND editor to get the next installment to – just knock out the words already!”. But my body is not having it.
Today I saw two students early in the morning, went back to bed, slept until almost 11 am and have done dang near everything else except write!
Starting to think that I should try again tomorrow, lol
But I can’t do that just yet.
Ya’ll – I am soooo close to my set finish line with the series for the year and I am ready for you all to read more of the series.
Yeah, the second installment has only been available for a few weeks, but I’ve already written the end of the series!
Let me explain.
I started writing for this series while in Mexico (back in 2017…I think). The first rough draft was done as part of that year’s Nano, along with another story (that I’ve since turned into a novel, but I’ll fill ya’ll in on that later, lol) and finished having it edited.
So…since the first of the MAGIX series has been published, while going back and forth with whether or not I wanted to make it a series, I continued writing for it. Though most of that I have put on a ‘Do Not Release’ usb, because, well, the storylines went to a dark place due to my depression at the time.
Needlessly to say, I haven’t been in that headspace in awhile, so with no funds I decided, “Why not?”.
Started working on making MAGIX a series and wrote the ending. Everything that I wrote before had to change, I legit did a ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ with each main character for a week and picked my favorite endings for Mika, Ae Rin, Geegi, Xiao Mei and Izzy that way.
I still think it was my best decision to date since deciding to make MAGIX a series.
Though what that now involves is me going through my re-writes, choosing where to section each part of the story, and make it all flow so that the story fits within my envisioned finished product of the series.
Not an easy task, clearly.
So after posting this update, I’m going to try to solo sprint it out for this last plothole that I have within the third installment. Wish me luck!

MAGIX: Dulcet Duets, is scheduled for release next month.
I honestly don’t see it happening.
I haven’t been able to finish my updates, and even if I did manage to do that, the editor that I’d like to use for this project hasn’t been available.
Which is just as well, because I have no money to pay them anyway.
So, to try to get this third installment out (oh, let’s shoot for November, lol) I have signed up for Pro Writing Aid, to help me knock down some key editing mistakes. At least this way I can have it somewhat presentable before scheduling it for pre-order over on Draft to Digital.
That means I have 10 weeks to come up with the funds to pay for editing and go through said editing. I can totally do this, right?
I hope so!
Because I planned on fixing plotholes for the next installments of this series for Nanowrimo and have another (yes, another! lol) book that I want to focus all my time and energy on for the end of this year.
This series has taken so many L’s ya’ll, but I refuse to give up on it.
It’s been the catalyst to my other wips, so much so that there are even Easter eggs all throughout the series that tie into my other wip novels (yeah NOVELS). And I feel like if I don’t see this through, I’ll never be able to finish those stories.
This pressure to see this series through is all self inflicted, but at this point can’t be helped.
Because if no one reads this series, I honestly wouldn’t mind.
I just want it to be the story that I envision in my head. I want to be able to read it through and be proud of getting it on paper. This story came to me in a hallyu flurry, soap opera-ish dream, and I want need to bring it to life.
Being this close to doing just that is now my fuel, and I got to see it through.
The other thing that is pushing me to finishing this installment is this:
So, here’s to finishing book three of The MAGIX Series, Dulcet Duets!

Yesterday, I realized that I had to make a choice, and it was much easier than I thought.
The MAGIX series will be continued – next year.

Right now I am preparing for the release of my first AA Romance novel and I simply do not have to funds or energy to publish both works at the same time.
As I mentioned in a previous update, the series has been written, but I need to have it edited, proofread, and there are a few more things that I would like to include for the fans of the series as a ‘thank you’ for reading the series (think of them as ‘service’ items, lol).
So I have decided to keep saving for at least editing right now for the next installments of The MAGIX Series. Once I realized that by pushing the release dates on the series back a few months that I would be able to do back to back releases…
This is my first series ya’ll and I want to do it justice!
So yeah, I’m taking another L now, but next year MAGIX will flourish. In the meantime, here is an unboxing video that I did showcasing the first two books from the series.
I’ll check in with you all in January (or December at the earliest) with more details!
In the meantime, you can purchase an eBook copy of both MAGIX and MAGIX: Melodic Whirlwinds here, as well as read an excerpt from them over on Wattpad. I’ll add an unedited excerpt of MAGIX: Dulcet Duets today too!
From the bottom of my hallyu and romance loving heart, thank you for continuing to follow my MAGIX-ical journey.

I’ve missed checking in with y’all about this series!
After months of reflecting, I decided to see it through this time. To the bitter(sweet) end. The MAGIX series is going to continue and just typing those words makes me so happy!
The real question is, can I do it in five books? Should I do it in five books?
Originally, this was suppose to be a five book series. M-A-G-I-X!
Cheesy, I know, but that was my plan when I decided to write this story.
Though with book three done (ish, lol) and paying for proper copyrights to each book, I feel drawn towards the idea of bringing these characters to a close (for now, hehe).
I’m going to keep that thought in the back of my mind and just continue writing the story – with focus on making sure neither book gives ‘fuller/foddle’ vibes.
Earlier today, I created a separate page here for you MAGIX STARZ to find each installment of the series easier. Though if you want to be the first in the know (and also get a chance to earn some free swag along the way) about all things MAGIX, then join us over at The Stories Station!
And thank you so much for checking in on this MAGIX journey! Y’all are STARZ to me 🙂
